5th July 2009 - Burying the Time Capsule...
The Time Capsule, with artefacts from the Members of the BB in its 125th year, and a message to its Members in 50 years' time will be buried in the BB Garden with a short ceremony at 2pm on Sunday 5th July. All are welcome to attend.
A printable copy of the Order of Service for this ceremony can be downloaded HERE.
21st March 2009 - Spring is here again...
The daffodils are back - a superb show again, and the narcissi are also starting to show through. Work is still in progress to make the smooth transition from the brick paving from the Chapel level to the level of the paving of the BB Garden - nearly there; about 12 inches to go!.
The stone slab from Pennyland house was returned to the Garden this morning after being engraved with the BB crest and the words, "This Stone Came From Pennyland House, Thurso, Birthplace Of The Founder". It is looking good in place in the Garden.

8th February 2009 - As the early February snows melt...

1st January 2009 - A Chilly start to the Year!
A cold and frosty morning greeted the New Year! The Arboretum arranged several "Brunchtime" Guided Walks (followed by hot soup and rolls!), some of which included the BB Garden. Work is in progress to make a smooth transition from the brick paving from the Chapel level to the level of the paving of the BB Garden.

19th December 2008- Crosses of Remembrance...
Several of the Crosses of Remembrance which can be purchased at the Arboretum have been placed at the base of the Rock in memory of former BB Members. Unfortunately, these crosses suffer from the dampness in the soil rising by capillary action and discolouring them so that eventually they cannot be read. When this is so, they will be moved to another part of the Garden.
SOUVENIRS OF THE OPENING
There are still a few of the Philatelic Covers still available. The postmark on the Cover both features the same unique shape as the badge, which is a close approximation to the shape of the surface of the Slate Monolith.
If you are interested in purchasing any of these, please enquire initially by clicking HERE for the Philatelic Cover (which is sent under separate cover £5.50 inc P&P).
